Reconciling your rent payments with the bank statement
Gestorent reads directly the statement your bank exports, camt.053 or camt.054, the same standardised format at every Swiss bank, and finds the tenant behind each payment through their QR reference, never by name or by amount.
One format, every Swiss bank
camt.053 and camt.054, the e-banking standard
The account statement (camt.053) and the credit or debit notice (camt.054) follow the same international standard, ISO 20022, at every Swiss bank — not an integration negotiated bank by bank.
Collective entries are broken down
A bank sometimes groups the QR-bills collected on a given day into a single account line. Gestorent reads the detail inside that entry and reconciles each payment separately.
A reversal never counts as income
A movement that cancels an earlier credit is recognised as such, so that a rent payment is never counted twice.
Never by resemblance
The reference decides, alone
Neither the payer's name, nor the amount, nor the counterparty's IBAN enter the reconciliation. Two rents of the same amount, or two tenants with the same name, are never confused with each other.
A check digit, not a guess
The reference carries its own proof — recursive modulo 10 for a QRR, ISO 7064 for a SCOR. A mistyped digit designates no one, never the neighbour's file.
What isn't recognised waits for a decision
A payment with no readable reference stays to be filed, in the reconciliation's work queue, awaiting a human decision rather than an attribution to the most likely tenant.
What we're asked about bank reconciliation
Does my bank need to be compatible with Gestorent?
With any Swiss bank: it is the standardised e-banking format, not an integration to negotiate. UBS and BCF are proven every month.
Can a payment be attributed to the wrong tenant?
Not by resemblance: Gestorent never reconciles by name, amount or counterparty IBAN. A payment with no readable reference stays to be filed, awaiting a human decision.
What if my bank groups several rents into a single entry?
Gestorent reads the detail inside that collective entry and reconciles each payment it contains separately, so none of them gets lost in the total.

Bank reconciliation is part of every tier, with no separate paid option.
